On Holiday
Malta over the years
Our go-to destination for our winter holiday, we've visited Malta several times now to take advantage of the warmer climate. Although not hot at that time of the year, the temperature is generally at least 10° warmer than the UK so whilst long sleeves might still be needed, thermal clothing isn't. The islands (Malta, Gozo and Comino) gained independence from Britain in 1964, but English is still widely spoken and driving remains on the left.

Canada & Alaska 2002
Flying to Calgary, we travelled by coach via Banff and Jasper to Vancouver, where we boarded MS Ryndam of Holland America Line for a cruise to Alaska.

Norway 2003
Sailing from Harwich on the Arion, we called in to Shetland on our way to the Norwegian Fjords.

Iceland 2004
Having met onboard Funchal in 2001, we were keen to travel on her again. This cruise to Iceland left from, and returned to, Dundee.
Spitzbergen 2005
We'd travelled independently in 2000 onboard MV Funchal on a cruise to Spitzbergen, but hadn't really met until our cruise in 2001.

It seemed appropriate that we should return to Spitzbergen for our honeymoon.
Baltic 2006
We met on a Baltic cruise in 2001 onboard MV Funchal, so when the opportunity arose to return, this time on the Calypso, we took it.
