Green Spain 2026
Another coach trip with our local operator, Barnes, touring the Cantabria region.
We travelled to Plymouth to catch the Brittany Ferries overnight sailing to Santander onboard Pont Aven. Hoping to see dolphins and possibly whales in the Bay of Biscay, we were only 90 minutes from Plymouth before we found a pod of dolphins. Less success in the bay, but some passengers were lucky to see a whale breaching near the ship.
Our drive to our base for the week, Hotel Olimpo in Isla, took around an hour once we had cleared immigration in Santander.
We had two days at leisure in the resort, and several trips to various towns in the region, before returing on the overnight ferry to Plymouth.
